Seagrove got its name from the thick grove of oak trees that lined the beach. Those same oak trees have grown up to form a canopy covering many old and new homes in Old Seagrove. Seagrove officially begins just east of Seaside and continues to the newer resort town of Watersound. Generations of families have returned to Seagrove year after year building family traditions and creating memories to last a life time. Many of those same families have become permanent residents of Seagrove and can provide entertaining tales of times gone by. Though many of the one floor, modest beach cottages still remain, Seagrove has also grown to include stunning examples of our areas architecture. Sandcastle building and swimming are still favorite pastimes and have been joined by newer activities such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding and kayaking.
